The Kennebunk Inn Quarterly
Volume 2, No.1 Winter 2006
With the summer, fall and holiday seasons of 2005 behind us, we
look forward to what 2006 will bring. We wish for all our family,
friends and patrons a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year with
many trips to the coast of Maine.
2006 Rate Structure Maintaining the
"value-based" rate structure introduced in 2005, our 2006
rates are designed to encourage one and all to enjoy the history
and beauty of southern Maine - winter, spring, summer and fall.
Winter and spring season guests will note lower rates for Adams
Rooms and Family Suites. A new Summer (July and August) and December
Prelude season is being introduced; these rates reflect our higher
cost of operating, specifically utilities. Still, we believe our
overall rates are among the most competitive for any historic inn
in the region.
Winter Wonder: Two Day Dine and Stay Last
year’s popular Two Day Dine and Stay returns for 2006. In
January through April, book two nights, Tuesday – Sunday,
and enjoy a three course dinner for two in Academe,
Wednesday – Saturday, for $169 (Adams Room) or $179 (Jefferson
Room).
Chef ~ Owner Featured in Seattle Chef
~ Owner, Shanna O’Hea was selected to prepare breakfast for
the National Conference of the Women Chefs and Restaurateurs in
Seattle in early November. This annual, three-day gathering attracts
many of the leading women culinary professionals from America and
elsewhere. Shanna was accompanied and assisted by husband, Brian,
returning to Seattle for the first time since the year after college
when she worked in the Starbucks plant.
Renovations Underway The winter season
will provide an opportunity to complete a number of Inn renovation
projects. New patio furniture has already been ordered and Phase
One of a major painting and flooring initiative has been completed
– the first and second floor common areas at the back of The
Inn. Before the spring season arrives we intend to complete Phase
Two - exposing the historic wood floors and painting all the remaining
common areas. Also planned for the spring are new mattresses for
all the beds in The Inn.
